Golder Ranch Fire District

Summer is a busy time of year for everyone, and that includes all of us at the Golder Ranch Fire District. With school out, many children are home for the summer and it is important to know pool safety. The firefighters of the Golder Ranch Fire District IAFF Local 3832 have teamed up with the Oro Valley Aquatic Center and the Catalina Community Center Pool to offer free swimming lessons. There are a limited number of these opportunities available.

If you are interested in learning to swim at the Oro Valley Aquatic Center, come out for the Fourth of July celebration and sign up at the pool. Swim scholarships for the Catalina Community Pool will be available at Golder Ranch Fire District Administration, 3885 E. Golder Ranch Drive, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. All scholarships are on a first come, first served basis.

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a firefighter for the Golder Ranch Fire District? If the answer to that question is yes, there are two opportunities for you this summer. Golder Ranch is now recruiting for the position of firefighter. The application period is now open and closes on July 1 at 4 p.m. Please visit our website at www.grfdaz.gov for all the details.

If you are a young adult aged 15-20 years, the Golder Ranch Fire District is also recruiting for members of Explorer Post. Exploring allows participants the opportunity to experience firsthand what a career in the fire service is like. The new group gets started on Aug. 3, so do not miss this opportunity.
