Explorer Post 216 provides young men and women, 15 – 20 years old with the opportunity to explore what a career in the fire service, and public safety in general, is like.  The five new Explorers of Post 216 have completed their base education academy, which will continue throughout the year and mirrors the training received by our recruit firefighters.  The first year of this program culminates with a live fire evolution where Explorers have the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they have learned.  More information about Explorer Post 216 can be found on our website at www.grfdaz.gov/explorers.

Speaking of recruit fire fighters, Golder Ranch is welcoming eight new fire fighters to our organization.  The eight new fire fighters will begin their academy on Sept. 30, and graduate on Nov. 22.  Beginning Nov. 25, these new personnel will be out on the street providing the excellent care and customer service to the residents of the fire district.

Over the last few months, Golder Ranch has received many awards and honors including the Fire and Life Safety Award, the GFOA’s Excellence in Financial reporting award, and Chief Karrer was named Fire Chief of the Year for the State of Arizona.  In the coming months and years, Golder Ranch looks to continue and ultimately elevate this high level of performance.  To keep up to date on the goings on of your fire department, please visit our website at www.grfdaz.gov.
