Wow!  What a show the Sonoran Desert Flyers put on Saturday at Naranja Park in Oro Valley for their annual Aviation Awareness Day. There was something for everyone - from high tech model aircraft demonstrations to para gliders plus a visit from a local medical rescue helicopter. The morning started out darn chilly but it soon heated up with the enthusiasm of the crowd reacting to the skillfulness of the flyers putting their aircraft through acrobatic maneuvers. And some of the most skillful flyers were the kids as young as 8 and 11 years old!  One of the best things about the event was that all the raffle proceeds went to the Wounded Warrior Project!  Congratulations to the Sonoran Desert Flyers and to the town of Oro Valley for providing a super family event.
