Here we go again-something new is opened or proposed for Oro Valley and immediately criticized.

Robert Grassi’s concern that the concept of the Gaslight Theatre is being ripped off by the new Great American Playhouse in Oro Valley is patently absurd.

Playhouses whose signature is popcorn, peanuts, players going out into and engaging with the crowd, etc. can be found in cities across the country.

We’ve attended them in San Diego and St. Louis and seen them in other places over the years.

There is no copyright on theatrics. Enjoy the opportunity for an enjoyable evening out minus the nighttime drive to the center of Tucson.

Possibly, if we support out new theatre troupe, someone may accuse Gaslight of stealing he Playhouse’s concept.
