Marana Healthcare has been an important part of our community since 1957. What started as a single location providing medical care for migrant farm workers has become a region-wide system with 15 facilities that offer a wide array of services, including family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, physical therapy, dental, radiology, pharmacy, behavioral health, and quick care.

The Town has always supported MHC Healthcare’s efforts and is pleased to see the thriving facility, which opened last year across the street from our municipal complex. We are just as excited to see the MHC Counseling & Wellness Center open at the end of the month.

The new facility, located on the main Marana Health Center campus, is two stories and 30,000 square feet. The extra space allows MHC Healthcare to better serve the community and bring needed services and opportunity for coordinated care for each individual.

For more than 30 years, MHC Behavioral Health has provided support in individual, family and couples therapy and conducted 30 weekly groups addressing substance abuse, domestic violence assessment and treatment. The new facility brings the various service groups together on one integrated campus.

The new building provides space to offer alternative treatments, including traditional native techniques, acupuncture, pet therapy, art therapy and play therapy. MHC is committed to providing non-traditional treatments.

Staff’s efforts help some of the more vulnerable people in our community. It’s challenging work that grows more and more important every day.

To celebrate the facility’s opening, the Marana Healthcare on Sept. 22 is hosting Music in Marana, featuring rising country star Easton Corbin. Tickets are $25; sponsorships are available as are $100 VIP tickets that include dinner. I attended the Health Center’s grand opening last year and can safely say that the people there know how to throw a great party.

The Town is happy to see an expansion of MHC Healthcare services. MHC Healthcare has made a solid commitment to downtown Marana and we welcome its new facility and the many meaningful benefits it will provide.
