Ten years after the Town of Marana was founded, and a few businesses in the Avra Valley-Marana area formed the Marana Chamber of Commerce to support common goals and to promote the business community.
The chamber submitted an application for Articles of Incorporation on Jan. 27, 1987, and was approved on Feb. 19.
In 2012, the Marana Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating its 25th year.
"The Marana Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business that works to build economic growth & quality of life in our community" says the mission statement.
Networking provides opportunities for businesses to promote their products and services to other businesses and to consumers including, but not limited to, monthly breakfasts, luncheons, business fairs, ribbon cuttings and fourth Tuesday Mixers.
Members are encouraged to join a committee, be involved in what's going on within the community. Businesses can sponsor a wide variety of special events, including Community and Business Builder of the Year award, the annual golf tournament, Bowling for Diapers fundraiser, and the annaul State of the Town Address.
In addition, the staff of the Chamber maintains the Marana Visitor Center, an excellent resource for information about the Town of Marana, its businesses and community, as well as other local destinations.
Come join us in 2012 and see why the Marana Chamber of Commerce has been supporting business for the last 25 years.
