One of our Marana spring traditions is the State of the Town luncheon. It’s an event I look forward to every year because it gives me an opportunity to share a positive message about where our community is headed and a chance to thank some of the many people who make Marana great.

The event is hosted by the Marana Chamber of Commerce, one of the town’s most dependable community partners. President/CEO Ed Stolmaker and his staff do an excellent job representing the needs of the chamber’s more than 550 members. Our town is made better by the presence of the Marana Chamber of Commerce and this event is just one example of the many things chamber staff does to create a positive impression about Marana.

The hundreds of people who annually turn out for this event play key roles in making our shared community successful. Commerce is the bedrock of our Strategic Plan, which is undergoing its second update since being introduced in 2009. While all five plan focus areas are important, Marana wouldn’t exist without reliable, sustainable commerce. Our fine business leaders share the Town’s vision of a bright, vibrant future for Marana. The ripple effects from our success are felt across the region. Each community’s positive economic development benefits every corner of Southern Arizona.

The town and chamber also appreciate the support provided for the event by CalPortland and the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. The sponsorships these and other groups provide help defray costs for the luncheon and provide a little revenue for the chamber. This luncheon is also a fund-raiser so supporting this event is a great way to further the chamber’s message of economic prosperity for our town.

Marana’s Town Council and employees look forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces from across the community at our State of the Town. We have many exciting things to share and we enjoy talking with the business leaders and residents who make this such a great place to live, work and do business.

Marana’s State of the Town luncheon, hosted by the Marana Chamber of Commerce, is April 18 at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. For more information, please visit
