A New Jersey police officer has been charged with shooting and killing a man in what is being referred to as a road rage incident.

The shooting took place on a Maryland highway, allegedly after the two individuals became involved in an argument. 

The officer, 40-year-old Joseph Walker of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office was subsequently charged with second degree murder and manslaughter after shooting 36-year-old Joseph Harvey, Jr.

He is being held on $1 million bail as the investigation continues.
