A Canadian woman has accused four French police officers of raping her after meeting them at a Paris bar.

The four officers are currently in custody, and Interior Prim Minister Bernard Cazenueve said of the accusation, "I want the justice system and the police inspectorate to complete their investigations so that the truth can be established."

The 34-year-old Canadian woman said the rape took place at the Paris headquarters. The officers can be held up to 48 hours before being brought before a judge to decide whether they are to be charged.
