Catalina Community Services is up and running in its new location.

The move to 3535 East Hawser Street began Aug. 17 On Aug. 23, the agency opened to the public.

CCS shares the 5,000-square-foot facility with the Pima County Health Office. CCS has about 3,000 square feet, which is used for administration, a food bank and a clothing bank.

CCS and its 105 volunteers serve anywhere from 2,500 people to 3,000 people per month. About 280 families use the food bank each month.

Eight years ago, CCS began a building fund to help purchase a new facility. The last four years had been spent working with the county, planning the details of the current project.

To fund the current project, CCS partnered with Pima County for financial assistance. CCS was able to raise through its building fund about $500,000 for the $1.3 million facility.
