A national magazine says Oro Valley is one of the top 10 places in the country to raise a family.
The rankings, which appear in Family Circle magazine’s August issue, were based on home affordability, public safety, environmental protection and quality of schools.
“We have seen tremendous changes take place in Oro Valley over the past 20 years, but one thing that has not changed is our community’s willingness to work together to ensure our quality of life is maintained, and these efforts are being recognized by people all over the country,” Oro Valley Mayor Paul Loomis said in a release.
“We are no longer a bedroom community, and while we continue to serve our active, older adult population, we now see growth in the number of families and young professionals that seek to make Oro Valley their home.”
“This is a great testament for our community,” said Town Manager David Andrews. “Family Circle is a terrific publication and this honor speaks to the commitment of our town employees, residents, businesses and everyone who has an interest in keeping Oro Valley a quality, safe and scenic place for people to live, work and play.”
Family Circle has been publishing since 1932 and has an estimated readership of 4 million people.
