Pima County Sheriff's detectives are searching for clues into the killing of a man on the Northwest side.

Michael Estrada Rodriguez, 30, was found shot to death in a neighborhood near First Avenue and Orange Grove Road on Thursday afternoon.

Neighbors called police after hearing the sound of gunshots. Shortly afterward, police found Rodriguez lying dead in a neighborhood parking lot on the 200 block of Camino Lomas.

Sheriff's department spokesman Jason Amos said Rodriguez was not a resident of the neighborhood. Amos said investigators were not sure why the victim was in the area.

Neighbors told police that shortly after hearing gunshots, three pickup trucks fled. Two of the vehicles, a newer maroon-colored truck and a blue truck, headed westbound from the scene The third, a silver truck, left the area in an unknown direction.

Amos said investigators did not have more details about the makes or models of the vehicles.

Anyone with information regarding the incident has been asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
