A woman is dead, and her son wounded after an early morning shooting in the Northwest on Wednesday, June 18.

Dagmar Stellmach, 48, was found dead after suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Dawn Hanke. Deputies found her body in a third-floor apartment at Desert Shadows, 7425 N. Mona Lisa Road.

The deputies had come to the address to investigate an “unknown problem” and had to force their way into the apartment.

The victim’s son, Trenten Michael Stellmach, 22, also was shot and was in critical condition as of 7:40 a.m., according to Hanke.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate the matter, Hanke added.
