“Empire State of Mind,” a student-run fashion show, is being presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, in the Ironwood Ridge High School auditorium.

Each year, fashion design and merchandising students at the school put on two full-scale fashion shows, one in the fall, one in the spring.

General admission to the show is $7 for adults and $5 for students. VIP seating, the first three rows, is available for $10. Seats on the stage, “the best seats in the house,” according to a release, are the “Platinum seats,” on sale for $15.

VIP and Platinum tickets include a gift bag filled with beauty and perfume samples, along with coupons and other items.

Proceeds from the event will be used to send students on a four-day study tour through the New York Design and Fashion District. A portion of the proceeds will also go towards the Arizona Greyhound Rescue to help promote adoption of greyhounds.

Last year, the show raised more than $5,000, which went to the Heart and Soul Shoe Drive.
