A 30-year-old man suspected of killing a Northwest woman last Sunday died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday, April 3.

When Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported dispute at a home off River Road early the morning of March 29, they heard gunshots coming from an upstairs bedroom.

They found Roberto Gardea Ruiz wounded and 23-year-old Ashley Nicole Fimbrez dead from a single gunshot wound to the head, according to Sheriff's spokeswoman Dawn Barkman.

The shooting stemmed from an unspecified dispute at the home on the 1000 block of West Sea Star Drive, near the intersection of North Oracle and West River roads.
