A lawsuit over a faulty wastewater treatment facility at Marana High School will head to court.

The an appointment to set a trial date will be held in Judge Leslie Miller’s courtroom on July 21 at 9:30 a.m.

On Jan. 15, the Marana Unified School District and the Durrant Group, an engineering services company, filed a lawsuit in Pima County Superior Court against RS Engineering, alleging the latter did not correctly build the high school’s treatment facility, causing the facility to fail Arizona Department of Environmental Quality standards.

The school district is asking that RS Engineering pay for repairs to the facility.

Due to its remote location from the town’s sewer system, Marana High School has its own treatment plant because it requires more services than a septic system can provide.
