The Oro Valley Police Department invites the public to an open house to discuss the construction of a 125-foot tall monopole tower at the main police station.

The event is scheduled for this Saturday, June 12 at 10 a.m. in the Oro Valley Council Chambers, 11,000 N. La Cañada Drive. Representatives from Golder Ranch Fire Department, Pima County Sheriff's Department and the Pima County Administrators Office also will be on hand.

The construction is part of the Pima County Wireless Integrated Network, a Pima County bond project initiative approved by voters in 2004.

When operational, PCWIN will allow police, fire and other emergency responders within the county to have interoperable communications. This interoperability, which does not exist today, would enable Oro Valley police officers to communicate with other agencies.

For more information, contact Liz Wright with the Town of Oro Valley at 520-229-4758 or e-mail lwright@orovalleyaz.gov
