Pima Community College’s Northwest Campus will be hosting a Sept. 11 remembrance and reflection ceremony this Thursday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m.

The campus’ current flag will be retired, with the raising of a new flag accompanied by Pipe Major Wm. Don Carlos of the Seven Pipers Society.

A special tribute to honor Chief Warrant Officer Robert “Charlie” Hammett is also included. A tree will be planted in memory of CWO Hammett, who was killed in Iraq. He is the son of Pima Community College employee Skip Moen.

Guests are invited “to join our campus community in remembering and honoring those affected by the actions of September 11th,” a release said.

Pima Community College’s Northwest Campus is located at 7600 N. Shannon Road.
