A hazardous waste disposal day in Oro Valley has been cancelled.

The Town of Oro Valley had planned to collect household wastes on Saturday, May 23, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Naranja Town Site.

There is still an opportunity to properly dispose of household hazardous waste. The Pusch Ridge Christian Church, 440 W. Calle Concordia, holds household hazardous waste disposal day for the public on the first Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to noon. There is no charge to use this service. The next waste disposal day is Saturday, June 7.

The church accepts items such as batteries, automotive fluids, mercury containing products, paint products, pesticides and any items labeled acid, flammable, poison, toxic, danger or warning. All wastes should be properly identified and labeled, and containers should not leak.

Please do not bring business or commercial waste, commercial gas cylinders, explosives or ammunition, or infectious or radioactive waste, a release said.
