Voters in the Northwest Fire District elected a pair of new faces to the governing board.

Bruce A. Kaplan and William B. Daniell claimed the most votes for the two open seats over incumbent governing board member Lee Mellor.

Kaplan received 17,840 votes for 40.2 percent of the total. Daniell came in second with 14,868 votes and 33.5 percent. Mellor was third with 11,476 for a total of 25.86 percent of votes cast.

Voters in Metropolitan Water District also electe da pair of newcomers.

Judy Scrivener and Helen Ireland took two of the open seats. Current board chairman James O. Doyle won re-election.

Scrivener earned 8,192 votes for 26.36 percent and Ireland 8,964 and 28.85 percent of the vote. Doyle won 28.19 percent of the total with 8,758 votes.

Incumbent A.E. “Reb” Guillot received the fewest votes, with 5,044 for 16.33 percent.
