A new pastor and head of staff has been elected by St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

After a two-year interim, the St. Andrew's congregation affirmed a committee choice by electing the Rev. Jim Toole, who last was associate pastor of a 1,200-member Presbyterian Church in San Clemente, Calif.

Before the vote, Toole preached at three morning services. He'll begin his new ministry July 1.

Congregants had the chance to meet the Rev. Toole's family, wife Pati and sons Jake, 10, and Connor, 7, at a Saturday luncheon. Pati is also an ordained minister, but is not seeking a call at this time.

Associate pastors at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church are the Rev. Jennifer Wilcox Cummins and the Rev. Carla Williams.

St. Andrew's, chartered in 1960, has two campuses located midway between Ina Road and Magee Road on Paseo Del Norte at Chapala Drive.
