A Northwest plumbing business is offering free services to people who have lost jobs and have health-threatening plumbing problems.

The staff at Rogers Plumbing was touched by an NBC Nightly News segment about "how people are helping others during these tough economic times."

Rogers Plumbing is trying to help people who have lost jobs, "have a plumbing problem that is threatening their health or the health of their family, and cannot afford a plumber," a release said.

People are invited to send a short note describing their situations to Rogers Plumbing, Box 8191, Tucson, 85739.

"We will select the most serious problems and resolve those plumbing issues free of charge," the release said.

Names, addresses and phone numbers must be included in the notes, along with the name of a former employer and the date of termination.

"We are also asking other plumbing contractors in the area to contact us and help give back to the community," the release concluded.
