Official low Tuesday near three-year mark

The National Weather Service recorded a low temperature of 23 degrees at Tucson International Airport on Tuesday, Nov. 30. That was the lowest official temperature for Tucson since Jan. 15, 2007, when the mercury dropped to 20 degrees.

Regional weather reports on the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality website show a low temperature on Tuesday of 30 degrees at Tangerine and Thornydale roads. Temperatures in Continental Ranch in Marana dropped to 26 degrees on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service forecasts higher temperatures through the weekend, with overnight lows creeping up above freezing into the low 40s, and daytime highs reaching the low 70s by Thursday. The warming trend is expected to extend through the weekend.
