Oro Valley's public works department has broken ground for the La Cholla overlay project, a three-month transportation enhancement that will offer multi-modal options along La Cholla between Lambert Lane and Tangerine Road.

The project involves construction of a 10-foot multi-use path on the west side of La Cholla between Naranja and Glover roads. There will also be a southbound right turn lane at Naranja.

In addition, bike lanes are being added for the length of the project, which is jointly funded through both the Regional Transportation Authority and the Pima Association of Governments, a release said.

Drivers are asked to use caution through the area. Any restrictions will be posted, the release concluded.
