University of Arizona

This week, Pima County and its contractor, KE&G Construction, began a pipe and manhole replacement/rehabilitation project near the University of Arizona.

Work is taking place on Second Street, between Palm Drive to the west and Warren Avenue to the east. Excavation work is planned at Second Street just west of Mountain Avenue. Work begins daily at 7 a.m., and continues through 3 p.m. weekdays.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane of travel on Mountain Avenue between Second and Speedway, and on Second between Mountain Avenue and Vine Avenue. Barricades will be placed throughout the area, and motorists can expect delays as they move through construction zones.

Expected completion of work is Jan. 12. No construction work will take place Dec. 24-26, and Jan. 1-2.
