Last week, about 125 third graders at Ironwood Elementary School participated in a “Wax Museum” history project.

On Friday, Feb. 20, students came dressed as their favorite historical figures who contributed to the U.S. or the world. Students dressed up as characters ranging from Davy Crockett to female astronaut Ellen Ochoa.

Beside each motionless student lay a button. When pushed, the student came to life with a 20- to 30-second presentation on the historical figure they came dressed as. Beside them stood a display, illustrating their character’s life.
