Last week, the Marana Town Council voted 5-0 to approve an employment contract with new town manager Gilbert Davidson.

The contract stipulates a $148,000 base salary, six-month severance pay if Davidson is let go before the 2009 elections, a town vehicle and a 5 percent salary contribution toward retirement.

Davidson was previously deputy town manager. He assumed the top position on July 11, when previous town manager Mike Reuwsaat resigned.
