For the second year, the Marana Foundation for Educational Excellence is planning a casino night fund-raiser.

The event is slated for Feb. 14 at the Stardance Event Center at Lazy K Bar Ranch.

Last year’s event raised money so the foundation could give $13,000 in “mini grants” to “innovative educational programs” that help students in the Marana Unified School District.

“This year, the foundation’s goal is to quadruple this amount in order to further enhance educational programs for students,” president Lynnette Brunderman said in a release.

The foundation is seeking corporate sponsors, businesses that can make financial or raffle donations, people willing to post flyers and businesses that can sell tickets to the event.

“No donation is too small, and all donations are greatly appreciated,” Brunderman said.

Tickets for the evening are $50 per person and $90 per couple, to include dinner and casino chips. Casino gaming and chips are priced at $30 per person and $50 per couple. The deadline for dinner and casino tickets is Feb. 6.

To inquire about tickets and donations, people can contact the Marana Foundation, Box 90595, Tucson, 85752, or contact Marcie LeFrenierre at 981-3491, or call Gary Nicholl at 682-2088.

Checks are payable to the Marana Foundation.
