Citizens for Picture Rocks is hosting a forum for Pima County District 3 Supervisors and Marana Unified School District candidates on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

The event begins at 7 p.m. that Tuesday at the Picture Rocks Community Center, 5615 N. Sanders Road.

The meeting hosted by the non-profit organization is free and open to the neighborhood.

Expected to attend are incumbent Supervisor Sharon Bronson, a Democrat, and Republican challenger Barney Brenner.

Eight MUSD candidates vying for three positions, and all are expected to attend.

They are Amy Autret, Suzanne Hopkins, Joe Koellisch, Maribel Lopez, Kathryn Mikronis, Daniel Post, Albert Siqueiros, and Dean Spencer.

Candidates will make opening and closing statements, and respond to questions developed by the community.  Retiring District 25 State Rep. Jennifer Burns, a Picture Rocks resident, is the moderator.

There is an ice tea social 40 minutes before the meeting, and neighbors can register to vote.

Citizens for Picture Rocks makes neither endorsements nor recommendations, “but believes that an informed electorate is vital to our democracy,” a release said.
