Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard plans to host a forum in Tucson on the U.S. Fair Housing Act, Wednesday, April 30.

The event marks the 40th anniversary of the housing act and the landmark 1968 Civil Rights Act.

The acts made discriminatory practices in housing and other aspects of American life illegal.

Event organizers say the forum will feature a series of workshops intended to educate people about discrimination and the right of fair housing.

The event will be held at the Y.M.C.A. Francis McClelland Leadership Center at 525 N. Bonita Ave., in Tucson.

Attorney General Goddard will deliver a speech at 5 p.m. The event runs until 7 p.m. For additional information, contact Andrea Esquer with Goddard’s office at (602) 542-8019.
