The Foothills Optimist Club presented a $2,000 check to Marana officials on June 24 for a swim program for the town’s disadvantaged youth.

The money will be used for summer-long swim passes for qualifying children, bringing the total number served by the town to 600.

This marks the third year the club donated money for the program.
