Former Marana Police Chief Richard Vidaurri has landed a job as deputy chief at the South Tucson Police Department.

Vidaurri retired from the Marana department in June.

“He was the first one I thought of when he left Marana,” said South Tucson Chief Sharon Hayes.

Vidaurri is expected to start on Sept. 2. He was previously with the department for several years, rising to the rank of lieutenant.
