This week, the Town of Oro Valley is performing pavement preservation work funded by the Arizona Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The schedule is:

Tuesday, May 25, 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Milling work on Lambert Lane. Paving commenced at 7 a.m. on Lambert Lane. Striping began on Tangerine Road.

Wednesday, May 26, 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Paving commences on Naranja. Milling work starts on Rancho Vistoso. Lambert Lane is striped. Motorists can expect major delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes through the area.

Thursday, May 27, 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Paving will commence on Rancho Vistoso Boulevard. Striping along Naranja and other roads in the project will begin.

Friday, May 28, 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Final paving, striping and clean up will conclude.

Intermittent traffic and lane restrictions will be in place throughout the week. Law enforcement officials will be in place to assist motorists at the Tangerine closure and as work reaches the intersections in the other areas.

To avoid these road restrictions, bicyclists may wish to access alternative routes to Oracle Road.

Marana paving work

Crews with Southwest Asphalt Paving are working with the Arizona Department of Transportation this summer to resurface several roads within Marana.

Roadwork, to include a variety of resurfacing treatments, is taking place on 1.5 miles of Sandario Road from Trico Marana Road to West Moore; 1.8 miles of Twin Peaks road, from Quarry Road to Silverbell Road; and 6.9 miles of Tangerine Road from I-10 to Thornydale.

Work was scheduled to begin Monday, and run through Aug. 1. Normal work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. One lane will remain open in each direction on streets under construction. Short periods of restricted access are expected. Flagging personnel and pilot car operations are in place during lane restrictions.

Ruthrauff Road to Prince Road

The Arizona Department of Transportation is conducting environmental testing in support of the I-10: Ruthrauff Road to Prince Road design project. The testing will take place along the eastbound I-10 frontage road, between Sweetwater Road and Prince Road. Excavators and crews will excavate 50-foot long, 4-foot deep trenches. All work will occur within ADOT right-of-way, and no road, driveway or sidewalk closures are expected. Access to businesses will remain open.

From Monday, May 24, through Thursday, June 3, crews and equipment are scheduled to be on site from approximately 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Temporary fencing, adjacent to sidewalks, is scheduled to be installed to ensure that pedestrians do not enter unsafe conditions.
