On Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 12:30 p.m., Marana police responded to Marana High School, where a student reported his backpack stolen. He told police the bag contained a laptop computer. The student told police that he left the backpack in an unlocked locker in the boys' locker room while attending physical education class. When her returned to the locker room, the backpack, laptop and $4 in cash were missing. The officer wrote in the report that the locker room is accessible to anyone on campus and that no suspects had been identified. No arrests were made.

On Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m., Marana police responded to a car wash on the 4400 block of West Ina Road, where a man reported items stolen from his car. The man later told police that he went to the car wash to clean his car. Before vacuuming his car, he took several items out including a bag. The man told police that after he finished, he saw the bag was missing. He told police that the bag contained a laptop computer, a bible, a minister's manual and a flash drive. He did not know who stole the items but suggested police might see a suspect on surveillance video. No arrests were made.

On Thursday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m., Marana police responded to a report of shoplifting and a fight in progress at the Kohl's department store at 5850 W. Arizona Pavilions Drive. Once there, police spoke with a store employee, who said she attempted to stop a person seen on surveillance videos shoplifting. The suspected shoplifter became angered and verbally abusive toward the employee. Later, the employee attempted to restrain the woman to keep her from leaving before police arrived. The woman began to hit the store employee. Her boyfriend then pulled his car to the front door of the store, where the altercation was taking place. The employee said the man grabbed her from behind. During the struggle, the man's car keys fell to ground. The employee told police she was able to escape the man's clutches and grabbed his keys before returning to the store. Police arrested the man and woman on charges of assault, disorderly conduct and shoplifting. They were taken to Pima County Adult Detention Center. Reviews of surveillance video showed the woman had attempted to conceal four pairs of underwear beneath her clothing.

On Friday, Sept. 18 at 11:30 p.m., Marana police responded to an apartment complex on the 13000 block of North Lon Adams Road, where a woman reported a domestic disturbance with her boyfriend. The woman told police that her boyfriend bit her, poured beer on her and pushed her to the ground after he came home from a night of drinking. The woman told police that she did not want to sleep in the same bed as her boyfriend because of his drunken state. This angered the man who, according to police reports, pulled the woman to ground by her ponytail, poured beer on her clothing and attempted to kiss her. While kissing her, the man bit her, pulling a lip ring out of her mouth. The woman then escaped from the man, running out of the apartment and calling police. Incident reports indicated there was probable cause to arrest the man, however, he appeared to have left the apartment.
