School board members cast out in Oracle recall election

Recall election organizers met with success in an effort to replace three sitting members of the Oracle School Board.

Members Susan Beaman, Boyd Bosma and Jack Walden were defeated in their attempts to remain on the board of the 450-student school district.

In their stead, voters elected Alicia Bristow, Dave Bowersock and Kurt Steffens.

Unofficial election results from the Pinal County Elections Department follow:

Seat 1

Susan Beaman

• Votes: 844

• Percentage: 33.9

Alicia Bristow

• Votes: 1,641

• Percentage: 65.9

Seat 2

Boyd Bosma

• Votes: 766

• Percentage: 30.58

Dave Bowersock

• Votes: 1,738

• Percentage: 69.38

Seat 3

Kurt Steffens

• Votes: 1,682

• Percentage: 67.58

Jack Walden

• Votes: 802

• Percentage: 32.22

There are 9,322 registered voters in the school district. Of those, 2,520 — or 27.03 percent — voted in the recall election. The district has yet to determine when the new board members will take office.
