Buckeyeduffer: WOW - Chicago Style Politics Have Arrived in Oro Valley

-- Mayor Threatens Fellow Councilman
-- Police Union Attempts to Undermine Managements Rights.
-- Race & Sexual Harassment Cards Played Early and Often
-- Mockery of Open Meeting Rules

In-Jest Musings & Observations for Council Consideration:

-- Beware of the Mayors dental chair following council meetings. You too may become a target of opportunity.
-- Don't even think about establishing a "white history" month in Oro Valley.
-- Take special care to avoid contact with chains and cement blocks if you are not a member of the council "boys club".
-- Council members must ensure timely payment of their FOP union dues and understand that they are being employed by the FOP rather than vice-versa.

Seriously Council (and Police Dept), this is a great town and a great place to live -- get a grip on yourselves. If you cannot behave and serve our town residents in a professional manner, please vacate you posts. We pay your compensation and do not need the type management you are presently demonstrating.

JerryR: It does not suprise me about Zinkin. He's your typical Democrat. He recently wanted to raise taxes in OV, Now he wants to cut police, that's just what Democrats do.

John Flanagan

John Flanagan: It sounds very petty. Accusing Mr Burns of being a racist on the basis of the comment about Mexicans is too stupid to consider serious. His accusers have probably said some things in jest about other ethnic groups. LIGHTEN UP EVERYONE....DO THE JOB....GET ALONG....THAT IS WHY YOU WORK FOR ORO VALLEY. The troublemakers need to get a life.

hakeson: It is time to realize Pima County needs consolidated police departments. Enough duplication and waste when one police department would be a better solution to use of taxpayer dollars.
Different addresses, which side of the street, and who serves your home and business doesn't make sense when all could be placed in one consolidated police department.
Time to modernize public services, end waste and duplication and make our tax dollars work better and harder for us.
Better pay, better delivery of service, best for both the public and the various police department employees including the uniformed officers.

JamVee: I've lived in Oro Valley for going on 16 years. I like this town, and I think, for the most part it is run well. I've always been particularly impressed by the OVPD. I hate seeing this type of petty discord in our city's government.

The folks who are the subject of this article need to sit down, face to face and work out these issues. I remind all the individuals involved that when one person thinks you are wrong, the matter is debatable, but when 4 - 5 people think you are wrong, you need to rethink your own position. In addition, nobody in public office can afford to let their temper take over, no matter what the situation. You were elected as a professional and you should all behave that way!
