On Monday, Sept. 12 at 7:14 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to an apartment at 8215 N. Oracle Road in response to a domestic disturbance. When police arrived, they were directed to the back room of the apartment, where a man was being held down by his 16-year-old son. The man’s wife told police that he had become very intoxicated, fell and broke a table, and then fell again and broke a window. The man blew a Breathalyzer reading of .40. Mountain Vista Fire Department then responded to the scene, where they found the man’s vital signs to be stable and medically clear. He was arrested for domestic violence and disorderly conduct, and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.
On Monday, Sept. 12 at 2:52 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to the Sally Beauty Salon at 10785 N. Oracle Road in response to shoplifting. Police met with the manager who described a woman who had come into the store. The manager said she was helping another customer when the woman tried to leave the store without paying for some items. The manager said the woman got confrontational and left. She had told the woman to stay because she was calling the police. The woman gave the manager back two French nail stickers valued at $3.99 each and left. The manager was able to get the license plate number and gave it to police to search the area. Police were unable to locate the vehicle or contact the owner of the vehicle.
On Monday, Sept. 12 at 10:44 a.m., Oro Valley police responded to house near Naranja Drive and La Cholla Boulevard in response to a neighborhood problem. Police met with the homeowner, who told police she had placed boulders along her side yard to prevent people from parking in her gravel. Police noticed the boulders were arranged in a pile on the center of her side yard. Police asked nearby neighbors if they had any information about the rocks being moved. One person told police he had seen a group of kids walking around the neighborhood the night prior but did not know if they moved the rocks. The woman said she would have her gardener place the rocks back in their proper locations.
