Estes Elementary School, in the Marana Unified School District, has earned the 2014 A+ School of Excellence award presented by the Arizona Educational Foundation.

To celebrate this exceptional recognition, students, parents, staff and community are invited to join Estes Elementary School at a special awards ceremony on May 8.

Estes Elementary School principal, Nancy Paddock, will receive the A+ School of Excellence award presented by Bobbie O'Boyle, Executive Director Arizona Educational Foundation. Following the ceremony, the community is invited to remain and enjoy musical performances and student artwork displays.

Nancy Paddock, Estes principal, states, "The A+ School of Excellence award recognizes and celebrates the exceptional education and outstanding programs at Estes Elementary. It is gratifying that the judges recognized that along with our emphasis on celebrating success with students, we emphasize a culture of continuous improvement in our service to students. Along with our academic focus, the award celebrates the entire school culture that is evident in interactions with students, parents, and staff. This award is a tremendous honor for our school community and I am so proud of our students, staff, parents and community for their continued commitment to excellence."

Arizona Educational Foundation Executive Director Bobbie O'Boyle says, "It is an honor and privilege to recognize, celebrate and focus on what is RIGHT with public education in Arizona. Estes Elementary staff, students and community are to be commended for overall excellence and for all the hard work and collaborative effort it took to earn this award.  Based on their outstanding application and a very memorable and impressive site visit to the campus, Estes Elementary School has truly earned the Arizona Educational Foundation's A+ School of Excellence designation."

Estes Elementary School is one of 34 schools in Arizona to receive the 2014 A+ School of Excellence award.
