The Ceremonial National 9/11 Flag was raised at La Toscana Shopping Center at Ina and Oracle roads early Friday morning in recognition of the victims, survivors and first responders of the Jan. 8 shooting. On July 8, the flag traveled to Centennial Hall on the UA campus, 1020 E. University Blvd., where firefighters from the New York City Fire Department assisted local service heroes in a ceremony to help sew the Arizona restorative patch onto the 9/11 flag. People were invited to attend and have the opportunity to help stitch the flag. More photos will appear in The Explorer's July 13 issue.
