National Association of Police endorses Carmona in U.S. Senate race

The National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) has announced its endorsement of Rich Carmona for U.S. Senate. NAPO represents more than 1,000 police units and associations, 241,000 sworn law enforcement officers and more than 100,000 citizens who share a common dedication to fair and effective crime control and law enforcement.

“As a former TOP COP Award recipient with more than 25 years experience in Law Enforcement, NAPO is pleased to support Rich Carmona’s U.S. Senate campaign and is confident in his strong support of America’s law enforcement community,” said William Johnson, executive director of NAPO.

The endorsement comes upon the recommendation of Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA), who previously endorsed Rich Carmona for U.S. Senate.

Carmona is one of the most highly decorated police officers in Arizona, having received the Police Medal of Honor, Medal of Valor, Medal of Merit, Medal of Achievement, numerous commendations, including the National "Top Cop" Award and the National SWAT Officer of the Year.

Carmona law enforcement and public safety endorsements include Arizona Sheriffs:

Joe Dedman, Apache County

Bill Pribil, Coconino County

John Armer, Gila County

Steve Tucker, Greenlee County

Clarence Dupnik, Pima County

Roger Vanderpool, Pinal County (former)

Tony Estrada, Santa Cruz County

Additional public endorsements have come from the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona, Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, and the Pima County Deputy Sheriffs Association.
