After barricading himself in his home for more than two hours early Sunday, Oro Valley resident Angel Canva surrendered to Pima County Regional Swat Team units from a home near Naranja Drive and First Avenue.

According to police spokeswoman Kara Riley, deputies responded to a call around 5:30 a.m. at the home. Upon arrival, police found family members standing outside, with one of them reporting Canva had assaulted her.

Canva came outside the resident for a moment, before retreating and barricading himself inside. The SWAT units talked to him for more the two hours, getting him to surrender without incident.
