Looking to bring national attention to Oro Valley, the town council voted unanimously last year to fund a major expansion of the Aquatic Center.

On March 15, the council along with the rest of the community celebrated the $5 million expansion that has been successfully completed.

Besides being a family-friendly facility, the expanded center is now fit to host national competitions.

Oro Valley had been selected to host the 2014 U.S. National Synchronized Swimming Championships in 2014.

The project has been deemed a success as the town continues to celebrate.
