Motorists traveling on Interstate 10 east of Tucson will encounter travel restrictions this week and the following week while the Arizona Department of Transportation conducts excavation and hauling operations near Marsh Station Road.

ADOT will open three miles of newly constructed eastbound lanes overnight tonight, then begin removing materials from the project site.

Left lane closures will be in effect on both eastbound and westbound I-10 at the west end of the project, at approximately milepost 288, from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily Tuesday, Feb. 4 through Thursday, Feb. 6.

The lane closures will continue in the same area and during the same hours on from Monday, Feb. 10 through Thursday, Feb. 13.

The work is part of a $17.2 million project to separate eastbound and westbound I-10 in eastern Pima County by constructing new alignments in both directions.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1
