Golder Ranch Fire District has a new tool to help train its firefighters on a multitude of simulated scenarios. The three-story training tower at Station 370 at 3845 E. Golder Ranch Drive is designed to improve firefighters’ skills in responding to live fire burns, attending to fire-related situations in interior and exterior stairwells, tunnels and mazes; and dealing with sprinkler systems.

The pre-fabricated training tower is the second tallest in the Tucson area. The top level provides a platform for rescue training, including rappelling. There are various doors that firefighters can force open and cut to practice gaining access to structures.

The cost to build the tower, including the construction of its foundation, was $267,000.
