Weekend rollover crash injures mother and child
Adam Goldberg/Northwest Fire

Northwest Fire crews responded to the 4800 block of West Twin Peaks Road, south of Tangerine Road after a report of a vehicle off the roadway was called into the 9-1-1 dispatch center.

Marana Police Department and the first engine from Northwest Fire arrived to find a small compact car that had left the roadway and overturned down into a wash along side of Twin Peaks Road.

Paramedics found a 28 year-old female and her 4 year-old daughter that had sustained minor injuries after losing control of the car. Both mother and daughter were appropriately secured with seatbelts and a booster seat.

Paramedics believe that this was a significant factor in the minor injuries they saw versus critical or possibly fatal injuries that could have resulted during the rollover.

Both mother and daughter were packaged and carried up the wash embankment approximately 10 feet to awaiting ambulances for transport to the trauma center at UAMC for evaluation and treatment.

Marana Police were on the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of the driver losing control and crashing.
