On May 29, at about 3:04 a.m., Pima County deputies with the Foothills District responded to the Quick Mart located at 900 West Roger Road in reference to an armed robbery. An armed man who demanded money approached the clerk at the counter.

The suspect came into the store with what appeared to be a sawed off shotgun and demanded money and cigarettes. The clerk complied and the suspect then asked the clerk to give him the money in the safe. He told the suspect that he could not get into the safe because it was time delayed. The suspect proceeded behind the counter to look at the safe. The suspect also stole eight to ten packages of Newport Cigarettes.

The clerk described the suspect as a 5’8” male, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He described the sweatshirt as being pulled down around his face and black material concealing his face therefore he was unable to give the suspect’s ethnicity.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is urged to contact 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
