For the remaining golfers playing in Marana at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, some had a short day, while others had to play a few extra holes to advance to today’s rounds.

Louis Oosthuizen finished off Webb Simpson in 14 holes, winning 5 and 4. For Graeme McDowell, it took him 21 holes to finish 1 up over former champion Hunter Mahan.

During their round Friday, Mahan took and early lead going into the third hole 2 up. But by the fifth hole, the duo was all square and stayed even until the 11th hole when Mahan finished one stroke over McDowell.

With five holes left in regulation and on the 14th hole, the back and fourth began. McDowell tied it up, and then Mahan took the lead 2 up. On 17, McDowell won the hole and needed to win 18 to tie it up, which he did.

For the next two holes, the two stayed all square, until McDowell finished with a par on 3 and Mahan took a bogey.

Taking out the remaining former champion, Jordan Spieth took out Matt Kuchar in 17 holes, finishing 2 and 1.

In addition, the other golfers who are still remaining and playing today are Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Victor Dubuisson, Jason Day, and Ernie Els.
