Crossroads at Silverbell Park showcases art, archeology
Alan M. Petrillo/Special to The Explorer, Ten obelisks, five on Silverbell Road and five in the Crossroads at Silverbell Park, are double-sided and stand 10 feet high by 3 feet wide. Each has mosaic panels inset on its front and back depicting concepts from a specific era.

Work off Thanksgiving calories before you even take them in during the inaugural Turkey Trot on Nov. 2 at Crossroads at Silverbell Park.

The event features 5K and 10K races with awards for male and female winners. There’s also a non-competitive Family Fun 5K. Everyone receives an event T-shirt.

Participants are encouraged to bring a frozen turkey or canned goods to benefit the Marana Community Food Bank.

Pre-registration is $15. Day-of signups are $20. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. on race day and the races  run at 9 a.m.
