What do you do with your old medications? More than half of us dispose of unused pharmaceuticals in the trash. Others flush them down the toilet where they contaminate the waterways.
The bulk of pharmaceuticals found in waterways most likely got there by way of sewage. Aside from any environmental implications, discarded pharmaceuticals pose a real threat of misuse.
On May 5, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department will host a Dispose-A-Med event. The collection site will be located at the Eastside City Hall located at 7575 East Speedway Blvd. from 8 a.m. until noon.

For safety and confidentially reasons, any items turned over for collection cannot be returned. We cannot accept drugs from commercial organizations.
