Ryan Kedzierski has been named publisher and director of advertising for The Explorer Newspaper in Northwest Tucson.

The announcement from The Explorer's parent company, 1013 Communications, came Nov. 1, a little over a month after Kedzierski was brought in to serve as interim advertising director.

Kedzierski has a proven track record within interactive and print sales management, driving revenue increases for his companies as well as delivering tangible results for customers.

His plans for the paper are simple - produce a newspaper that people will continue to read from cover to cover, producing the news in both print and electronic formats.

"We're going to take The Explorer from a newspaper commodity to an interactive commodity to a mobile commodity," he explained. "People will have access to hyper-local content whenever they want it and any way they want it."

Kedzierski will continue to keep an emphasis on hometown news, providing Northwest Tucson, Oro Valley and Marana with current events, breaking news and information that is crucial to keeping up with the local community.

Excited about the new challenge the lies ahead, Kedzierski is no stranger to the newspaper industry. His newspaper career dates back to 2002 when he joined Freedom Communications at Ahwatukee Foothills Newspaper.

He has flourished throughout his career, moving on to management roles at the East Valley Tribune, Gannett, Ocotillo Tribune and Maricopa Tribune.

After holding down multiple management roles to learn the industry, Kedzierski is excited to have a more permanent home at The Explorer.
